Xavier Institute of Development Action and Studies, Jabalpur was founded by Fr. Michael Van den Bogaert, SJ in 1995. PGDM studies in India usually offer a two-year long course. At the XIDAS, there are two PGDM programs that are AICTE approved – PGDM and PGDM – Rural management. For the management program, students can specialize in finance, marketing, and human resources. Let’s discuss each of these programs in detail:
1. PGDM in Marketing
This course has different facets like sales, media, graphic design, advertising, market research, communications, data analysis, trend, social media, and public relations. During the course, students will learn about the basic techniques and concepts of marketing management. Also, they will learn how to create strategies that emphasize on building customer relationships and customer value. Once the course is done, they will have the skills required for making marketing decisions and using tools to solve business situations.
The PGDM Marketing course at XIDAS has field engagement, internship or placement components mandatory for 2/3rd of the program. During the course, students will have lectures, discussions, assignments, presentations, case studies, etc. This way, students will be able to understand the theoretical aspects of the subject as well as practical experience and be offered multiple PGDM jobs.
2. PGDM in Finance
This course of management studies in India is related to accounting but its primary focus is on the management, analysis, and strategies of the financial processes. All leaders rely on their analysts and financial advisors for making decisions on growing income and minimizing losses. During the course, students will be learning the techniques and concepts of a marketing management strategy that emphasizes on building customer relationships and creating customer value.

3. PGDM in Human Resource
This course is about hiring, using, and retaining a workforce. When it comes to managing the employees and their relationship with the company, human resources plays a very important part. During the course, students will learn about the concepts, techniques, methods, and issues related to managing human resources. They will develop an understanding of how human assets can be used in serving the objectives of the organizations. Also, they will be able to recognize the changing role of a manager and customize the practices and policies of HRM for meeting the current, real-world issues. Through the course, students will get familiarized with the legal framework of labor laws and HR.
4. PGDM in Rural Management
This is a unique program for management studies in India. The aim of this program is to help students learn about the principles of business management and how they can be applied to build the country’s rural society. Throughout the course, students will learn the theoretical aspects of rural management. The course will help students become a professional who is effective and capable who can assist the rural people.
