Visiting Lecture Series

Product & Brand Management by Dr. Pinaki N. Patnaik, NALSAR

A lecture series on Product and Brand Management was organized from 17.08.15 to 26.08.15 for the students pursuing Post Graduate Diploma in Management at XIDAS. It was delivered by Prof. Pinaki Pattnaik who is the Head of Centre of Management Studies at National Law University (NALSAR), Hyderabad.  With almost more than a decade of experience at various educational institutions of repute like Northern College of Applied Arts and Technology, Canada, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, National Law University, Odisha & NALSAR, Hyderabad. He has developed an expertise in the area of ABCL (Activity Based Contextual Learning). Some of the major highlights of his deliberation were that the world is at the present moment ever so competitive. Innovation has taken center stage for business success. Product design has become pivotal to create and maintain market presence. These new/differentiated products need identities and these identities are called brands. Brands help in recall of the products and aid the consumer in decision making during those tough purchase situations. It is hence true that the more proliferated the brand is in the market, the better the market share of the product. Thus, products and brands are like the two sides of the same coin. This lecture series aimed at creating an appreciation for this relationship in the minds of the future business leaders through theoretical and empirical approaches for better decision making. Fr. Alfred Toppo, S.J., Director and Prof. Mehul Chauhan, Dean thanked the resource person for enriching their students.
